Am I stupid for this?

So a couple days ago my ex starts texting me out of the blue and that was bout 5 or 6? and by 10 he was telling me he was sorry he broke up with me and that he still loves me and never stopped (the reason we broke up was cause his mom didnt like how we went to diff school and really never saw each other) and when i told him i would b going to the same high school as him he told me that he would wait for me and so i asked him if he would stay dateless for ME and he said yes he would. I mean should i believe him or what?! am i stupid for still talking to him??? please no REALLY rude comments!!
