I have been diagnosed with genital herpes and just started suppresive therapy.?

I'm taking one 500 mg Valacyclovir pill a day. I was wondering if on top of that it would be a good idea for me to take Lysine as well. The one I bought is a 1000 mg per tablet L-Lysine. I don't know if thats to much or not?
