How do I fix my kitty's squinty eye?

I have a cat that has a tear duct malformation and is susceptible to eye infections, and after viewing your photos my opinion is that your kitty has conjunctivitis. You really have no choice but to take him to the vet; the medicine he needs is only available by prescription. My vet had me purchase a product called Genteel gel drops for my cat. It's artificial tears in a gel form so the effects last longer. They are around $10 and can be purchased at any drug store. I would try applying it to his eyes a couple of times a day to help relieve some of the discomfort until you can take him to the vet. You can also boil some salt water, let it cool, and use that water with a clean rag to remove any crusty material from around his eye. If he does not get treated by a veterinarian asap the infection will likely spread to his other eye, too. If you have a regular vet maybe you could call them and try to work out a payment arrangement. I hope your kitty starts feeling better soon!
