I have a very sick kitty. please help :(?

My cat had kittens that were was born on the 20th of Jan 2011 and one has conjunctivitis (if that's how you spell it :D ) i was told Lysine was good to help his immune system but not sure if he is old enough to take it. He has had it for a while and salt water isn't helping :( we cant afford to take him to a vet atm and he is due to go a new home soon, and they cant afford to have him looked at either atm. I don't know what to do and was wanting a little advice on some cheap things i could buy to help this little fella see again!! and advice would be much appreciated. Cheeky
