Can I kiss with a cold sore with chapstick on? Will he get a cold sore?
Hello. Ever since I was little, I've been getting cold sores every so often. My boyfriend has never had a cold sore, and I don't want to give him one. The cold sore is in the very corner of my lip, and we haven't kissed since the cold sore showed up on Friday, because I refuse to risk giving him these miserable thing. I've been putting this medicine on it - Lysine, I think it's called. I also picked at it as I always do, and it ripped my lip, which has now scabbed over slightly. It's a tiny little thing, a little bigger than the tip of a ball-point pen. I read somewhere that it's safe to kiss if I have chapstick, cold sore medicine, soft lips, or lip gloss over the sore. Is that true? I don't even think the part of my lip that it's on touches his when we kiss. Anyway, is it okay? I really miss his kisses, but if I truely have to wait, I will. (: Thank you!
